Nothing proves knowledge and skill quite like when someone agrees with you. 😀

This post about Gordon Dedman’s recommended survival gear is right in line with everything I carry.

by Leon Pantenburg

I came across this person on the Associated Press wire. I’m always interested in what experts carry for survival gear,  and this guy is good. Gordon Dedman is Alone Australia’s bushcraft consultant, and founder of training company Bushcraft Survival Australia.

See Dedman’s complete list of gear and read the story: Alone Australia

His survival credentials are impressive: Dedman is a military survival instructor and bushcraft teacher. He is currently a survival instructor in Norforce, an army reserve Regional Force Surveillance Unit. It conducts long-range patrols and border protection operations in the wilderness areas of remote northern Australia. Norforce patrols may be in the field unsupplied for long periods of time, so a strong emphasis is placed on survival skills.

A combat survival SERE instructor (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) regularly instructs Combat Survival Training School courses in North Queensland.

In 2017, he founded Bushcraft Survival Australia, an outdoor bushcraft survival school for which he is a senior instructor.
